Role Description
The Vice President of sales is the leader of the sales organization. They are responsible for the overall direction, strategy, and tactics of the sales function. They also have responsibilities across the entire customer experience, from understanding customer needs and creating effective selling strategies to delivering the products and services that meet those needs. They are also a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and will engage with other department leaders to ensure the business is moving in the right direction.
Key Responsibilities
• Devise and implement highly effective business development strategies that identify target markets and business opportunities in accordance with overall corporate expansion objectives
• Drive the development of domestic and international sales strategies
• Develop and manage industry channel approach and partner strategies & programs
• Develop pricing policies and strategies to maximize growth and profitability.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to sales teams to achieve assigned objectives with overall responsibility for achieving Revenue budget, and managing expenses
• Build, manage and coach a high-performing sales team.
• Foster a culture of sales excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Outlining and managing sales budgets & forecast.
• Setting monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals and motivating the sales teams to achieve their targets.
• Evaluate the industry Trends, market demand and competitor activities and adapt the sales strategies to lead the market.
• Reviewing customer activity, anticipating customer needs, and improving customer satisfaction.
• Analyze and Report sales updates highlighting trends, key performance metrics, risks and wins to the Shareholders at the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meetings.
• Establishing and maintaining key customer relationships.
• Create new product features and specialized solutions for primary industries and conduct market research to gather product requirements from customers
• Set targets, monitor, review and initiate action plans to achieve target KPI's
• Develop business plans, strategic alliances, customer service initiatives, and promotional activities to increase brand awareness.
• Collaborate with marketing team in order to strengthen company's market position and achieve desired business goals.
• Drive the implementation of marketing campaigns that meet business objectives and drive leads
• Manage marketing budget and expenditures
• Support execution of brand standards and ensure compliance across all marketing and communications channels
• Identify competitors and evaluate their strategies and positioning and devise counter-strategies
• Build long term relationships with employees, clients, government officials and stakeholders
• Maintains relationships with advertising agencies, public relations firms and market research firms.
• Manage the creation, development and production of sales proposals, RFP's, presentations, brochures, and commercial communications
Requirements
10–15 years of experience working in Sales and Sales Management
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Food Science, Science, or Nutrition preferred
Minimum 10 years of business experience in food ingredients B2B environment;
5 years in a manufacturing environment;
5 years of proven leadership/project management experience
Diverse negotiation and sales techniques

Solid knowledge of MS Office is required; experience in CRM tools such as Salesforce
